Bypass Microsoft Account Requirement During Windows Installation

Warning

Microsoft has announced that they are going to start blocking these methods in the very near future. Rely on Chris Titus's script below once these are no longer able to use.

Legacy Methods

  1. Begin Windows installation as you normally would
  2. When it gets to the following point(s) in the installation process:

    • Requires connection to a wired or wireless network
    • Requires sign-in/registration of a Microsoft account
  3. Press Ctrl + F10

    Note

Pressing the function or fn key may also be necessary (depending on the keyboard) to bring up the Command Prompt

  4. Enter the following command:

    oobe\bypassnro

  5. The computer will reboot and will no longer force connection to the internet, nor to sign-in with a Microsoft account

  6. Alternatively, once the Command Prompt window is open, enter the following command:

    start ms-cxh:localonly

Chris Titus's Script

  1. Run the following in the Command Prompt to pull down the skip.cmd file:

    curl -L christitus.com/bypass -o skip.cmd

  2. Once the file has been downloaded, run the file:

    skip.cmd
